Maya Francine Thomas is delighted to return to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, where, during her two seasons, some of her favorite plays included Playboy of the West Indies, Idiot’s Delight, and Oo-Bla-Dee. She also appeared in Witch at Oregon Contemporary Theater. She has just completed the final draft of her play, Billie: A Conversation with Lady Day, which imagines an intimate interview with Billie Holiday after her death, free from the confines of addiction, violent marriages, and racial and societal constraints. Maya's extensive stage experience also includes Ragtimeat Ford Theatre, NYC theatre credits including Dark Rapture at Second Stage Theatre, Wit at MCC, Billie at The Duplex, and Crumbs from the Table of Joy at Indiana Repertory Theatre. She holds a BFA from the Juilliard School and also trained at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center.
